7 steps to your tailored garment
In 7 simple steps you can get your perfectly fitting garment at MAXIMILIAN MOGG. Whether it's a suit, coat, shirt or chinos - we can fulfill all your wardrobe wishes.
Step 1
The decision
The day has come... the moment has arrived: "off the rack" is no longer enough for you. The reasons for this realization are countless... and each of them is a good one. If you immediately think of Humphrey Bogart's wonderful sentence "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship," we can only agree with you. The relationship between a tailor and his customers usually lasts a lifetime. We look forward to developing a wardrobe with you that will accompany you through the valleys and heights of life like a good friend.
step 2
Book the appointment
The first step has been taken and from here on it only gets easier: Make an appointment for a consultation with us in our showrooms in Berlin or Cologne or at one of our national or international trunk shows. We regularly visit many parts of Europe and the USA. We bring measuring tape, our fabric collections and various designs with us to our joint appointments. We then discuss things together on site and look together at what we can conjure up for you.
Our meeting
As I said, it only gets easier. We get to know each other at our meeting in the Berlin or Cologne branch or at our selected locations at a trunk show. You don't actually have to prepare anything - but you can invest as much preparation as you want in yourself in advance of our appointment.
step 3
The design process
We will be there for you during the design process and will be happy to advise you on the choice of fabric, color and pattern as well as all design details - such as the shape of the lapel, the angle of the pockets and the number of buttons on the suit. It's up to you whether you want a perfectly fitting classic or something truly extraordinary. We will be happy to support you in your decisions.
Step 4
you are measured
We take up to 39 different measurements of your body and then note down other relevant data such as your posture and movement profile. This forms our basic standard to create a unique garment for you.
The production of your garment
The production of your garment takes between 5 and 16 weeks, depending on the product, fabric availability and the level of craftsmanship required.
Step 5
we create a cut
We create a pattern for you based on all your measurements and our observations. Our cutters use this pattern to cut the fabric you have selected to create your new garment. During fittings and future visits, your pattern is continually updated and adjusted - so that your pattern always remains up to date. This is also important so that you can order made-to-measure items online from the MAXIMILIAN MOGG Club.
Step 6
tailoring
Our tailors will assemble the pieces of fabric cut by the cutters to create your garment. Once this process is complete, we will notify you so that you can arrange an initial fitting with us.
Step 7
Fitting
At your second appointment, you try on the garment and we check the fit together with you. If changes are necessary, we will take care of them. At the same time, we update your pattern in our archive. A few weeks later, the garment is ready for collection or shipping
What's next?
Now that you have your first piece of clothing from MAXIMILIAN MOGG in your hands, nothing stands in the way of planning the next one. At the same appointment or at a subsequent appointment, we will get feedback from you on how you like the look, fit and comfort of the first piece of clothing and discuss how we would like to proceed together. Perhaps you would like it a little slimmer or a little looser? A little more extravagant or a little more conservative? The same suit in a different fabric or color? Or maybe a dinner jacket?
The Maximilian MOGG CLUB
If you have purchased a made-to-measure suit or coat, we welcome you to the MAXIMILIAN MOGG Club. From this point on, you can order all designs in this shop to your individual measurements - at the price of the standard sizes shown. You will also be invited to exclusive club events and receive a 5% discount on all non-made-to-measure products.
The price depends on the garment, the fabric (required), the level of completion and any special requests. We list the starting prices for each type of product in the respective sections - easy to find via the menu above.
It can take five to 16 weeks before you can pick up your finished garment in our stores. If you need your garment more quickly, please contact us and we will try to work out a solution with you.
No. Because the garment is made specifically for you, we cannot take it back if you don't like it. For this reason, we are available to advise during the design process. If there is something about the fit that you don't like, we are happy to work with you to find a solution.
